About Minesweeper

Minesweeper is the legendary logic game that shipped with every PC for decades. The numbers tell you how many mines touch each square — use pure deduction to reveal every safe cell without detonating a single mine. This version plays exactly like the classic: your first click is always safe, right-click (or flag mode on mobile) marks suspected mines, and clicking a satisfied number 'chords' to clear its neighbors instantly. Three board sizes from the friendly 9×9 Beginner to the brutal 30×16 Expert with 99 mines. The timer is running — sweep fast, sweep clean.

How to play Minesweeper

  1. 1Click a square to reveal it — the number shows how many mines touch it.
  2. 2Your first click is always safe and opens up a starting area.
  3. 3Right-click (or toggle 🚩 flag mode on mobile) to mark suspected mines.
  4. 4Click a revealed number that has the right number of flags around it to clear the rest of its neighbors at once.
  5. 5Reveal every safe square to win. Click a mine and it's game over.

Tips & strategy

  • A '1' touching exactly one unrevealed square means that square is a mine.
  • Compare overlapping numbers: the 1-2-1 pattern puts mines on the outer squares.
  • Flag confidently, then chord on satisfied numbers to clear fast.
  • When truly forced to guess, choose the square touching the fewest numbers.

Clicking a revealed number whose adjacent flags match its value reveals all its other neighbors at once — the key to fast play.

How do I flag mines on a phone?

Toggle the 🚩 flag mode button, then taps place flags instead of revealing. Long-press also flags.
