3D Checkers
Jump chains. Crown kings. Classic draughts in 3D.
About 3D Checkers
3D Checkers brings a hand-finished wooden draughts set to your browser, on the same tranquil waterfall-garden table as our 3D Chess. Grooved boxwood and mahogany discs sit on a polished board — click a piece to see its moves glow, then watch it hop with smooth arcing jumps. Full English draughts rules are enforced: men move diagonally forward, captures are mandatory, multi-jump chains must be completed, and reaching the far side crowns a stacked king that moves in all four directions. Take on a three-level AI that punishes loose pieces on Hard, or pass the device for a two-player match.
How to play 3D Checkers
- 1Click one of your discs — legal moves light up (green dots, red rings for jumps).
- 2Men move diagonally forward one square onto empty dark squares.
- 3Jump an adjacent enemy disc to capture it — captures are mandatory!
- 4Chain multi-jumps in one turn when the landing square allows another jump.
- 5Reach the far row to crown a king, which moves and jumps in all four directions.
Tips & strategy
- Keep your back row intact early — it stops enemy crowning.
- Trade pieces when you're ahead; avoid trades when behind.
- Force your opponent into mandatory captures that set up your double jumps.
- Control the center; edge pieces have half the options.
Frequently asked questions
Are captures really mandatory?
Yes — as in tournament English draughts, if a capture is available you must take it, and multi-jump chains must be completed.
How do kings work?
Reach the opponent's back row to crown a king (a stacked double disc). Kings move and capture diagonally in all four directions.
Can I play checkers against the computer?
Yes — Easy, Medium, or Hard AI. Hard searches six moves deep and rarely misses a double jump.
